4K HDR Ultra HD Logo
4K HDR Ultra HD is technically superior in terms of contrast ratio, colour accuracy and pixel resolution, making it a massive leap forward for television technology. As a result, Eurofins Digital Testing has introduced a new logo scheme that delivers High Dynamic Range (HDR), Ultra-High Definition (UHD) and Wide Colour Gamut (WCG) simultaneously.
The technical requirements have already been adopted by LG Electronics and MStar and for other manufacturers implementing HDR, the associated test suite is very useful, even for those not wishing to adopt the logo.
The scheme ensures that the latest generation of UHD HDR screens (which deliver the highest picture quality currently available), are easily recognised in the marketplace. The new 4K HDR Ultra HD logo identifies equipment that has been fully tested and proven to meet the highest standards of picture quality. The logo scheme certifies that all qualifying equipment will successfully deliver the extended contrast range and colours essential for HDR and WCG, as well as ensuring that the full potential of UHD is met (which offers up to four times the clarity of existing HD services). HDR brings a whole new dimension to content with vivid, true to life colours, darker blacks and brighter whites and the combined result of these three factors results in a significant leap forward in terms of television viewing.
While there are many UHD, 4K and HDR logos out there – from both individual manufacturers and industry consortia - none of them indicate whether the TV is able to decode UHD/HDR content delivered via broadcast, nor do they offer an assurance that the TV is capable of receiving via broadband UHD/HDR content in a standard format. This is the reason that this our logo scheme is unique and currently receiving considerable interest in the industry.
